Marienbad

Photos of Marienbad (now Marianske Lazne, Czechia) circa 1913

Established in 1808, Marienbad (now Marianske Lazne) was one of the richest and finest of the grand resorts of the day. Surrounded by lush forest, and with at least 60 cold-water springs, it was a spa resort which attracted the likes of kings and emperors, industrialists, surgeons, poets and revolutionaries, before its descent in the first world war.
